Humpback whales are also winter snowbirds (to have their babies) in the Bay of Banderas @visitpuertovallarta You never know when they’ll put on a “show.” #bahiadebanderas #nature_brilliance #whalewatching #mexicotravel #puertovallartaadventures #puertovallarta2019 #puertovallarta #humpbackwhale
Puerto Vallarta may be a major international tourist destination, but in the center of the historic zone this industrious #rooster is but one “alarm clock” along with church bells (& cell phones) that greet the morning. @visitpuertovallarta #mexicantravel #traveltuesday #mexicannature #urbanlandscapes #urbananimals #urbanfarmanimals
The rugged, rocky beauty of eco-protected Blue Flag certified Playa Amapas @visitpuertovallarta @blue_flag_beaches #ecofriendly #mexicanbeaches #nature_brilliance #ecotourism
Exhuberent #wallpaintingart @visitpuertovallarta Emiliano Zapata (Romantic Zone). Art holds an important place in Puerto Vallarta’s urban landscape. #publicart #mexicanart #mexicantravel #culturaltourism #streetartwork
It’s #foodiefriday & Bistrot Local @sapphire_pv serves a savory small plate of delicate fried #wantons encasing shrimp. @visitpuertovallarta #beachfrontdining #puertovallartaeats #mexicanfood #culinarytravel
Tour the fine art galleries in historic Puerto Vallarta’s El Centro every Wednesday evening through May on the free art walk to a dozen galleries with @vallartaartwalk guide #mexicanart #mexicanartists #culturaltravel #mexicantravel #urbanactivity @visitpuertovallarta
Just over a rocky hill at the south end of Los Muertos beach in @visitpuertovallarta is a very different landscape - the wave carved rocky Amapas Beach. This is at the start of its mile+ stretch of rugged beauty. #amapasbeach #mexicantravel #beachwalk #bahiadebanderas #oceanscape
Winter in #puertovallartamexico means flowers punctuate the urban landscape with color! @visitpuertovallarta #citygardens
Monday in @visitpuertovallarta with some nice surf on the #bahiadebanderas #beachwaves #mexicotravel #waterfrontpark #beach #mondayfeels
Molcajete @elbarracuda_barsolar is a rich dish named after the basalt bowl used for both cooking & serving. Main ingredients can very - shrimp, chicken, grilled beef, chorizo etc+ tomatoes, garlic, cilantro, lime, queso fresca & served with rice & diced avocado. You can spoon it onto at plate &/or into warm corn tortillas, or (as I chose) to eat its savory goodness right from the #molcajete @visitpuertovallarta #mexicanfood #culinarytravel #beachfrontdining #puertovallartaeats #regionalmexicano #regionalfoods #regionalfoodie
What do you not find in @visitpuertovallarta ? Polar vortex, snow measured in feet, sleet & freezing rain.... you do find #beachfront #historiczones #beachfrontrestaurant #foodfestivals #familytravel #gaypuertovallarta and a host of other activities “difficult” in a northern winter.
A golden path on the Bahia de Banderas @visitpuertovallarta #bayofbanderas #pvsunsets #nature_brilliance #mexico_fotos #mexicotravel #naturephotos
My first #orchids of the winter season on my apartment balcony in @visitpuertovallarta I always look forward to them & in Puerto Vallarta’s winter they will thrive for at least 2 months. #nature_brilliance #tropicalplants #mexicotravel
In @visitpuertovallarta life is on the streets! Read my article by clicking the link on my bio. #traveltuesday #zonaromanticapuertovallarta #puertovallartaeats #culinarytourism #mexicanfood #foodfestivals #gaypuertovallarta
Puerto Vallarta’s annual #aguachile festival was held today. Jammed with people sampling dozens of varieties on the basic recipe. This one has shrimp, etc, but with #passionfruit juice added to the lime/chili marinade. Spicer than ceviche, aguachili is native to northwestern Mexico including @visitpuertovallarta. Article out soon. #culinarytourism #mexicanfood #puertovallartaeats #zonaromanticapuertovallarta
Crispy coconut shrimp with orange chili marmalade & slaw. Nice light dish at Qulture in @visitpuertovallarta @qulturepv #foodiefriday #puertovallartaeats #zonaromanticapuertovallarta #culinarytourism #puertovallartarestaurants
It’s atmosphere as well as stellar talent that makes @incanto_vallarta @visitpuertovallarta a leading venue for music & theater. @gaypvmx
Cooking classes in traditional #mexicanfood every Monday & Friday (by reservation) at Gaby’s Restaurant @visitpuertovallarta. Includes market tour & raicilla tasting as well as lunch being what you cooked ! Chef Julio Castillon is 2nd family generation at Gaby’s. #puertovallartarestaurants #puertovallartaeats #culinarytourism #gayfriendlyrestaurant #favrestaurant
A light & refreshing #breakfasttoast at Cafe Deli, Puerto Vallarta: a “caprese salad” on toast. @cafedelipv they roast their own coffee as well. @visitpuertovallarta #culinarytourism #puertovallartarestaurants #puertovallartaeats #foodiefriday
Dinner at Da Simone Restaurant Bar @visitpuertovallarta - A flavorful pasta frutti de mare w/clams, calamari, mussels & shrimp. Yet their interpretation of a “Caesar salad” (2nd pic) was a bit odd & flavorless except for a drizzle of aioli. I will go back though since they also hit it on the mark with a cheese ravioli in a complex pesto sauce, which my dinner partner wished for several servings #puertovallartaeats #puertovallartarestaurants #zonaromanticapuertovallarta #culinarytourism
